In a sunlit office overlooking Dubai’s ever-evolving skyline, Gina P. Nelson reflects on a truth she’s carried across continents: “Stories shape the world. And for too long, women’s stories were sidelined.” As CEO and Founder of Bella & Bella Productions, Nelson is not just changing the narrative—she’s building the platform on which it is told.

Part strategist, part storyteller, part cultural architect, Nelson is the force behind one of the UAE’s fastest-growing women-centered media and consultancy ventures. Bella & Bella is more than a company, it is a movement, a mentorship engine, and an ecosystem of celebration. At its core lies a singular belief: empowering women isn’t a program. It’s a principle.

The Spark Behind Bella & Bella

The name “Bella & Bella” traces its roots to a friendship—two women in different time zones calling each other “Bella” as a daily ritual of encouragement. That ritual is now an institutional ethos. “We hire in pairs,” Nelson says. “Two people journeying together. It’s how growth becomes a shared destination.”

From its headquarters in the Gulf to its global online platforms, Bella & Bella blends consulting, storytelling, and education. It guides international businesses entering the GCC while creating tailored programs for female founders. The flagship initiative? The Women in Business Conference, now in its third edition, slated for May 10, 2025, at Heriot-Watt University Dubai. The theme: Practicing Courageous and Empathetic Leadership.

For Nelson, courage and empathy are not slogans, they are strategies.

The Power of the Mic

Nelson’s podcast, Diving for Pearls, may be the heart of Bella & Bella’s media identity. Across episodes, she invites women from across cultures and careers to unpack their journeys, often venturing into emotional terrain with intellectual grace. “We aren’t just talking about wins,” she says. “We’re talking about what it took to show up, every day, and still choose purpose over fear.”

In Episode 16, a moment with Nigerian journalist Mayowa Adegoke changed the arc of the series. “She reframed the African story from survival to sovereignty,” Nelson recalls. “She taught us that media can be a tool of hope, not just headlines.”

Season Two of the podcast will launch in Fall 2025, with a focus on emerging markets and untold stories from across the African continent.

The Architecture of Kindness

A former educator, Nelson builds her business around emotional intelligence. At Bella & Bella, kindness isn’t a footnote—it’s a KPI. “I’ll hire someone kind over someone competent,” she states, without hesitation. “Because in our world, kindness compounds into innovation.”

Maya Angelou’s iconic quote, “People will forget what you said… but never how you made them feel” is her guiding mantra. Every team dinner, every client conversation, every Saturday Spotlight Series on LinkedIn reflects a workplace philosophy grounded in warmth and radical inclusion.

A New Chapter for Women Founders

In 2026, Bella & Bella will launch its 12-week Female Founder Training Program, a curriculum designed to move women from ideas to implementation, equipped with financial, strategic, and leadership tools. It’s part of Nelson’s dream of transforming inspiration into income.

Also in development: wellness and leadership retreats for women seeking holistic transformation. “You can’t lead from burnout,” Nelson says. “You lead from alignment.”

Leadership in Full Color

The upcoming Women in Business Conference is set to showcase leaders who embody complexity and conviction: Juliet Chioma Nweke, Zehra Fattah, Nadine Halabi de Francesca, Dr. Tracie Scott, Jihane Bachir, and more. Each represents a facet of what Nelson calls “compassionate power.”

It’s a phrase she returns to often. “Compassion isn’t softness. It’s strategy. And women leading from this place will define the next century.”

The Legacy in Motion

From New York ambition to Dubai’s dynamic pulse, Gina P. Nelson has built more than a brand, she’s built a sanctuary for bold storytelling, purposeful partnerships, and unapologetic joy. Her work is a reminder that success isn’t just what you build; it’s what you awaken in others.

And if you ask her what’s next? She smiles, with a pause befitting a seasoned storyteller.

“We’ve only just begun to write the good part.”
