With over 15 years of service in Abu Dhabi Police, Reem didn’t settle for fulfilling her security duties, she redefined the role of public service for Emirati women. Her career path is far from conventional. She says, “My passion started with the sea and deepened with rowing. My mission expanded from sports to manufacturing, and from science to innovation.”

From Pressure to Purpose

Reem’s journey didn’t start in a lab or leadership program — it began amidst the challenges of balancing work, motherhood, and elite sports training. A former national rowing team athlete and assistant coach at the Abu Dhabi Sailing & Yacht Club, Reem knows that discipline isn’t just a word, it’s a way of life.

“I chose rowing because it carries a message and a responsibility. The sea became my classroom, the community my field, and change started with an idea.”

When the Sea Withdrew

The defining moment of her career came when the body of water she depended on for her sports project was suddenly removed. For many, that would be the end of a dream. For Reem, it became a turning point. “I had two choices: quit or innovate. I chose to create a new sport tailored to our environment and that’s how mountain rowing was born.”

Mountain rowing, a fusion of identity, nature, and physical endurance is now a uniquely Emirati innovation combining tourism, sport, and sustainability. Reem not only developed the concept but also manufactured the equipment herself, becoming the first Emirati woman to locally produce Olympic rowing boats a feat that earned national recognition.

When Neuroscience Meets Identity

Reem’s innovation extended beyond sport. As a certified trainer in applied neuroscience, she developed RNPD PRO, the UAE’s first diagnostic model blending rowing with brain science to enhance mental and physical performance in high-pressure environments.

“The model was born from a personal struggle, but today it serves soldiers, doctors, engineers, and athletes alike.”

She also launched Mr. Marine Sports, a national platform combining mental training, neurological coaching, and marine sports to empower individuals and communities through scientific and innovative methods.

Soft Power That Drives Change

Through her achievements, Reem has become one of the UAE’s most influential figures in women’s empowerment. She’s been honored by Abu Dhabi Police for her role in talent development and recognized by the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX) at the “Make it in the Emirates” exhibition for her contributions to empowering women in industry.

بخبرة تتجاوز خمس عشرة سنة في القيادة العامة لشرطة أبوظبي، لم تكتفِ ريم بأداء مهامها الأمنية، بل أعادت تعريف مفهوم الخدمة العامة للمرأة الإماراتية. مسيرتها المهنية بعيدة كل البعد عن النمط التقليدي. تقول: “شغفي بدأ مع البحر وتعمّق في التجديف، ورسالتي امتدت من الرياضة إلى الصناعة، ومن العلم إلى الابتكار”

من الضغط إلى الرسالة

رحلة ريم لم تبدأ من مختبر أو برنامج قيادي، بل من قلب التحديات بين العمل، وتربية الأبناء، والتدريب الرياضي المكثف. كلاعبة سابقة في المنتخب الوطني للتجديف، ومساعدة مدرب في نادي أبوظبي للرياضات الشراعية واليخوت، تعرف ريم جيدًا أن الانضباط ليس مجرد كلمة، بل أسلوب حياة

وتقول: “اخترت التجديف لأنه يحمل رسالة ومسؤولية. البحر أصبح مدرستي، والمجتمع ميداني، والتغيير بدأ بفكرة”

حينما انسحب البحر

نقطة التحول الأبرز في مسيرتها كانت عندما تم سحب المسطح البحري الذي كانت تعتمد عليه في مشروعها الرياضي بشكل مفاجئ. بالنسبة للكثيرين، كان ذلك نهاية الحلم. أما بالنسبة لريم، فقد حولت الأزمة إلى فرصة. تقول: “كان عندي خياران: إما أنسحب أو أبتكر. قررت أخلق رياضة جديدة تناسب بيئتنا، وهكذا وُلدت رياضة التجديف الجبلي”

رياضة التجديف الجبلي — مزيج من الهوية، والطبيعة، والتحمّل البدني — أصبحت اليوم ابتكارًا إماراتيًا بامتياز، يجمع بين السياحة، والرياضة، والاستدامة. ريم لم تبتكر المفهوم فقط، بل قامت بصناعة الأدوات بنفسها، لتصبح أول إماراتية تصنع قوارب التجديف الأولمبية محليًا، وهو إنجاز نال اعترافًا وطنيًا واسعًا

عندما يلتقي علم الأعصاب بالهوية

ابتكارات ريم لم تتوقف عند الرياضة. بصفتها مدربة معتمدة في علم الأعصاب التطبيقي، طورت نموذجًا تشخيصيًا إماراتيًا يُعزز الأداء العقلي والجسدي في البيئات شديدة الضغط، يجمع بين التجديف وعلوم الدماغ

تقول: “النموذج وُلد من تجربة شخصية صعبة، لكنه اليوم أداة وطنية تخدم العسكريين، والأطباء، والمهندسين، والرياضيين”

كما أطلقت مؤسسة إماراتية وطنية تجمع بين التمرين الذهني، والتدريب العصبي، والرياضات البحرية، بهدف تمكين الأفراد والمجتمعات بأساليب علمية وابتكارية

قوة ناعمة تصنع التغيير

من خلال إنجازاتها، أصبحت ريم من أبرز رموز تمكين المرأة الإماراتية. حصلت على شهادات تقدير من شرطة أبوظبي لدورها في رعاية المواهب، كما تم تكريمها من قبل مكتب أبوظبي للصادرات ضمن معرض “اصنع في الإمارات” لإسهاماتها في تمكين المرأة في القطاع الصناعي

ومع ذلك، فهي تنسب الفضل في نجاحها إلى الإرث الجماعي، قائلة
“اليوم، المرأة الإماراتية ليست فقط شريكة في النجاح، بل صانعة قرار، ومبتكرة، وقائدة لمشاريع محلية وعالمية”

وتُكنّ احترامًا خاصًا لسمو الشيخة فاطمة بنت مبارك “أم الإمارات”، وتقول عنها
“هي الأم الملهمة والظهر الداعم لكل بنت إماراتية. أعطتنا القوة والإيمان بأن مكاننا ليس محدودًا بمكان واحد. كانت مصدر إلهامي للاستمرار، وأثبتت لي أن صوت المرأة لا يُسكت، وطموحها لا سقف له”

رسالة إلى الفتيات الإماراتيات

تحمل ريم نداءً واضحًا لكل فتاة إماراتية طموحة
“لا تسمحين لأحد يحدد لك مكانك، ولا تسكتين على فكرة مستحيل. كل ما شعرتِ بثقل الطريق، اعرفي إنك على درب الإنجاز. الإماراتية ما تعيش حلم غيرها، هي تصنع حلمها بيدها وباسمها”

وفي ختام حديثها، ترى ريم أن تمكين المرأة اليوم هو امتداد لمسيرة وطنية عظيمة
“شعار يدًا بيد نحتفي بالخمسين يذكرنا أن تمكين المرأة لم يكن صدفة، بل نتيجة خمسين سنة من التشريعات، والتمكين، والرؤية القيادية. واليوم، كل إماراتية ترفع راية بلدها بشهادتها، وصوتها، وابتكارها، هي ثمرة لهذا العمل الجماعي”
