In the dynamic landscape of Emirati business, Reed Hamad Al Dhaheri stands out as a lawyer and businesswoman whose career has been defined by determination, expertise, and vision. She has built a reputation not only in law but also in trade, real estate, and corporate leadership.
Her beginnings, as she recalls, were far from effortless: “I faced many challenges in proving my presence in the business sector, by establishing a range of ventures and striving to make them succeed through partnerships with companies and institutions, while seeking profitable investment opportunities.”
Al Dhaheri has held several distinguished positions. She previously served as the First Vice President of the UAE Businesswomen Council, was a board member of the UAE Esports Federation and Lulu Group International, and earlier sat on the board of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. There, she chaired key committees, including Retail Trade, Oil & Gas, and Gold, which allowed her, as she puts it, “to facilitate many procedures for the private sector and encourage Emiratis—both men and women—to enter the business world rather than relying solely on government jobs.”
Her proudest achievement lies in her contribution to enhancing the private sector’s ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, helping to simplify regulations and open new horizons for investors.
When asked about the evolution of women’s roles in the UAE, she describes it as transformative: “Emirati women have achieved remarkable progress thanks to the wise leadership and the efforts of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak—Mother of the Nation—who has championed countless initiatives to empower women across all fields.”
Reflecting on the personal impact of this support, she adds: “Her Highness’s backing shaped not only my journey but also that of all Emirati women. Today, women lead major corporations, sit in the Federal National Council and the Cabinet, and play vital roles in sustainable economic development.”
To the younger generation of ambitious Emirati women, Al Dhaheri sends a clear message: “Believe in yourselves and in your ability to create change. Gain knowledge, seek experience, take part in training programs, and start your own ventures to contribute to the growth of the national economy. The UAE offers unique opportunities and support for women entrepreneurs—seize them.”
Finally, reflecting on this year’s motto, “Hand in Hand, We Celebrate Fifty”, Al Dhaheri pays tribute to the General Women’s Union: “It has been a vital platform for women across the UAE, empowering them to become true partners in the nation’s success story.”

ريد حمد الظاهري: صوت المرأة الإماراتية بين قاعات المحاكم ومجالس الأعمال

في مشهد الأعمال الإماراتي، يبرز اسم ريد حمد الظاهري كسيدة أعمال ومحامية كرّست مسيرتها لبناء حضور راسخ في عالم الاقتصاد والتجارة. تجمع الظاهري بين خبرتها القانونية الواسعة ونشاطها الاستثماري، وهو ما منحها مكانة بارزة في القطاع الخاص.

تشير الظاهري إلى أن بداياتها لم تكن سهلة، وتقول: «واجهت تحديات عديدة لإثبات وجودي وحضوري في قطاع الأعمال، عبر تأسيس مجموعة من الأعمال الاقتصادية، والسعي لإنجاحها من خلال شراكات مثمرة مع مؤسسات محلية ودولية».

شغلت الظاهري مناصب مرموقة، فقد كانت النائبة الأولى لرئيسة مجلس سيدات أعمال الإمارات، وعضواً في مجلس إدارة اتحاد الإمارات للرياضات الإلكترونية، وعضواً في مجلس إدارة مجموعة لولو للتجزئة، كما تولّت في وقت سابق عضوية مجلس إدارة غرفة تجارة وصناعة أبوظبي. خلال هذه الفترة، ترأست لجاناً محورية مثل لجنة تجارة التجزئة، لجنة البترول والغاز، ولجنة الذهب، وساهمت في «تسهيل العديد من الإجراءات على القطاع الخاص وتشجيع المواطنين والمواطنات على الاستثمار بعيداً عن الوظيفة الحكومية».

أما الإنجاز الأبرز في مسيرتها، فتراه في مساهمتها المباشرة في تعزيز بيئة الأعمال في أبوظبي، حيث عملت على فتح آفاق جديدة للمستثمرين وتمكينهم من المنافسة في سوق متسارع النمو.

وتصف الظاهري تطور مكانة المرأة الإماراتية بأنه تحول تاريخي: «سجلت المرأة الإماراتية تطوراً ملحوظاً وكبيراً بفضل القيادة الرشيدة وجهود سمو الشيخة فاطمة بنت مبارك – أم الإمارات – التي شجعت مبادرات دعم المرأة في مختلف المجالات».

وتضيف: «لقد انعكس دعم سموها على مسيرتي وعلى مسيرة كل الإماراتيات، حيث أصبحت المرأة اليوم تتبوأ مناصب عليا في المجلس الوطني الاتحادي ومجلس الوزراء، وتترأس شركات كبرى، وتساهم في التنمية الاقتصادية المستدامة».

وعن رسالتها للجيل الجديد من الإماراتيات تقول: «على الفتيات أن يؤمن بأنفسهن وبقدرتهن على إحداث التغيير. عليهن اكتساب المعرفة والخبرة، والمشاركة في الدورات التدريبية، وتأسيس أعمال خاصة تساهم في نمو الاقتصاد الوطني. لقد وفرت الدولة التسهيلات والتمويل للمستثمرات، وما عليهن إلا اغتنام هذه الفرص».

وفي ختام حديثها، تتوقف الظاهري عند شعار هذا العام: «يداً بيد نحتفي بالخمسين». وتعلّق قائلة: «الاتحاد النسائي العام لعب دوراً محورياً في تمكين المرأة الإماراتية. كان منصة أساسية لكل السيدات والرائدات، ومكّنهن من أن يكنّ شريكات حقيقيات في مسيرة نجاح الدولة».
