Manal Al Braiki, an Emirati woman rooted in heritage and driven by vision, carries a deep pride in her journey and her role in shaping her country’s tomorrow. She recalls the guiding words of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan: “The advancement of women is essential, and the advancement of society cannot be achieved without it.” From this belief, she embraced her mission to serve both her community and her nation.

Beginnings and Purpose

For Manal, every individual has a mission, but a woman’s mission is unique she is the first voice, the first image imprinted in memory, and the cornerstone in raising generations who honor the UAE. With a background in strategic management, she embarked on a professional journey in leadership, focusing on policy-making and future foresight within the government sector. “My journey didn’t begin with a single turning point it began with a genuine passion to contribute to shaping the UAE’s future,” she says.

Challenges and Conviction

The challenge was never proving herself but persuading others that women in positions of influence are a necessity, not an option. “At certain stages, my opinions were seen as ‘too ambitious,’ but I believe ambition doesn’t contradict reality it shapes it when paired with hard work and sincerity,” she explains. “Achievement is the strongest persuasion, and consistency builds credibility.”

Defining Achievements

She takes pride in being part of national teams that designed strategies for pioneering institutions, highlighting the UAE’s global vision whether in future diplomacy, anticipating challenges, or empowering talent. She also values the initiatives she launched within her organization to foster belonging and positivity, especially during transitions.

Emirati Women Across Generations

Manal describes today’s Emirati woman as standing on firm ground: “We didn’t start from zero we inherited a legacy of strength from our mothers and grandmothers. What’s remarkable is how this legacy evolved into policies and frameworks that ensure real empowerment.”

The Mother of the Nation

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Nation,” is, for Manal, both inspiration and foundation: “She is the heart and soul of women’s empowerment. Many of the doors I walked through were the result of her initiatives. She allowed us to dream bigger and achieve faster.”

A Message to the Young

“Be yourself, live your dream with confidence you deserve it. Don’t wait for permission; take initiative. Your country believes in you and invests in you. The opportunities are there for those who pursue them with determination,” she urges.

Hand in Hand, We Celebrate Fifty

On the theme of “Hand in Hand, We Celebrate the 50th,” marking the anniversary of the General Women’s Union, she reflects: “It’s not just about celebrating the past it’s proof that what Emirati women began fifty years ago still bears fruit today. It is both a legacy and a responsibility, one we must preserve and pass forward.”

لم تكن التحديات مرتبطة بإثبات الذات بقدر ما كانت في إقناع الآخرين بأن وجود المرأة في مواقع التأثير ليس خياراً بل ضرورة وطنية. تعلق: «في بعض المراحل وُصفت آرائي بأنها طموحة أكثر من اللازم، لكنني أؤمن أن الطموح لا يتناقض مع الواقع، بل يشكّله إذا اقترن بالعمل والإخلاص». وتضيف: «الإنجاز هو أقوى أسلوب إقناع، والاستمرارية تبني المصداقية

إنجازات تفتخر بها

تقول منال: «أفخر بكوني جزءاً من فرق وطنية وضعت استراتيجيات لمؤسسات جديدة تجسد رسائل الإمارات للعالم، من دبلوماسية المستقبل إلى استشراف التحديات وتمكين الكفاءات الوطنية». كما تعتز بإطلاق مبادرات مؤسسية ركزت على الإنسان قبل كل شيء، وأسست لبيئة عمل إيجابية تعزز الانتماء حتى في فترات التغيير

المرأة الإماراتية عبر الأجيال

تؤكد أن الفارق بين الماضي والحاضر كبير: «اليوم المرأة الإماراتية تقف على أرض صلبة بفضل دعم القيادة ورؤية أم الإمارات. نحن لم نبدأ من الصفر، بل ورثنا إرثاً عظيماً من الأمهات والجدات، واليوم أصبح هذا الإرث إطاراً مؤسسياً وتشريعياً يعزز تمكين المرأة

وحول شعار «يدا بيد نحتفي بالخمسين» بمناسبة مرور خمسين عاماً على تأسيس الاتحاد النسائي العام، تقول: «هذا الشعار ليس مجرد احتفال بالماضي، بل دليل حيّ على أن ما بدأته المرأة الإماراتية منذ خمسين عاماً ما زال يؤتي ثماره اليوم ويتطور عبر طموحاتنا للمستقبل. إنه إرث ومسؤولية في الوقت ذاته
