I am Dr. Jamila Juma AlMaazmi, a specialist in project management, governance, institutional compliance, and business continuity, with more than 25 years of professional experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors. I began my professional journey with a strong passion for learning and continuous development, and a firm belief that success is achieved through hard work and perseverance. Throughout my career, I have taken on numerous leadership and administrative roles that have enabled me to contribute to strategic projects and development initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional excellence and achieving sustainability. I continue to believe that the journey of learning and giving never ends with any single achievement.

From the beginning of my career, I believed that projects are a true engine for development and change. This is why project management attracted me, as it provides an opportunity to transform ideas and visions into tangible achievements. My interest in planning, governance, risk management, and improving institutional performance also encouraged me to deepen my expertise in this field and continuously develop my academic and professional knowledge.

A Doctorate… A Transformative Milestone That Proved Ambition Can Overcome Challenges

Earning my doctoral degree while continuing to fulfill my professional and family responsibilities has been one of the most transformative milestones in my life. This experience strengthened my belief that ambition and determination can overcome any challenge. Among the other achievements I am proud of are winning several professional, knowledge-based, and prestigious awards at the Dubai, UAE, and international levels; authoring my book, “High Walls,” in both English and Arabic, focusing on the connection between strategy and project management; contributing to the development of governance, compliance, project management, business continuity, strategic management, and institutional excellence systems; supporting and developing many young professionals and sharing knowledge and experience with them; representing Emirati women in an honorable manner across various professional forums; publishing important research related to my areas of work in professional and academic journals on international platforms; and being among the founding members of the Women’s Committee affiliated with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority from 2010 to 2014.

One of the most significant challenges I faced was balancing professional, academic, and family responsibilities at the same time, in addition to leading change and development initiatives in complex and rapidly evolving work environments. Her wise vision contributed to creating opportunities that enabled women to achieve significant accomplishments across scientific, economic, social, and leadership fields. For me, her journey has strengthened my conviction that investing in people, empowering women, and supporting education and knowledge are the keys to sustainable success for any society.

يُعد حصولي على درجة الدكتوراه مع الاستمرار في أداء مسؤولياتي المهنية والعائلية من أهم المحطات التحولية في حياتي، حيث عززت هذه التجربة إيماني بأن الطموح والإصرار قادران على تجاوز أي تحديات. ومن الإنجازات الأخرى التي أعتز بها الفوز بعدد من الجوائز المهنية والمعرفية والبرستيجية على مستوى دبي والإمارات وعالمياً، وتأليف كتابي «الجدران العالية» باللغتين الإنجليزية والعربية حول الربط بين الاستراتيجية وإدارة المشاريع، والمساهمة في تطوير أنظمة الحوكمة والامتثال وإدارة المشاريع واستمرارية الأعمال والإدارة الاستراتيجية والتميز المؤسسي، ودعم وتأهيل العديد من الكفاءات الشابة ومشاركة المعرفة والخبرات معهم، وتمثيل المرأة الإماراتية بصورة مشرفة في مختلف المحافل المهنية، ونشر بحوث علمية مهمة في مجالات عملي في المجلات العملية والأكاديمية على منصات عالمية، إلى جانب كوني من المؤسسين الأوائل للجنة النسائية التابعة لهيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي لسنة ٢٠١٠-٢٠١٤

أسرتي كانت ولا تزال الداعم الأكبر لي في جميع مراحل حياتي. كما كان لقياداتي ومديريّ ومعلميّ وزملائي أثر كبير في تطوير خبراتي وصقل شخصيتي المهنية. إضافة إلى ذلك، كان للإيمان بالله، والشغف بالتعلم، والمثابرة، والانضباط الذاتي دور أساسي في الوصول إلى ما أنا عليه اليوم
