The Peninsula Hong Kong continues its legacy of fostering artistic innovation with the latest iteration of its acclaimed Art in Resonance programme. As a beacon of cultural engagement, the luxury hotel will unveil a stunning new exhibition featuring visionary artists during Hong Kong Art Week. Open to the public through May, this extraordinary showcase highlights commissioned works from Hong Kong-based artists Phoebe Hui and Chris Cheung (h0nh1m), alongside Shanghai-based textile artist Lin Fanglu, in collaboration with the esteemed Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A).

A Landmark Cultural Initiative

The Peninsula’s Art in Resonance programme, launched in 2019, has been instrumental in supporting emerging and mid-career artists by providing them with curatorial support, funding, and a platform for public engagement. The 2025 edition aims to deepen the intersection of technology, tradition, and immersive art experiences, reaffirming The Peninsula Hong Kong’s pivotal role in shaping the cultural narrative of the city.

Innovative and Interactive Installations

The Peninsula Hong Kong’s iconic façade, The Lobby, and The Verandah will serve as the backdrop for three groundbreaking installations that merge art, technology, and cultural heritage.

Lunar Rainbow by Phoebe Hui

Greeting visitors upon arrival, Phoebe Hui’s Lunar Rainbow adorns the hotel’s façade with a large-scale celestial-themed installation. Through a fusion of science and artistry, Hui digitally prints fragmented moon images on aluminum panels, tracing the evolution of lunar representation from 17th-century scientific illustrations to modern open-source imagery. Enhanced with custom lighting that mimics a rare moonbow, the piece invites viewers to experience a serendipitous moment when the moon aligns from a specific vantage point, evoking curiosity and wonder.

She’s Bestowed Love by Lin Fanglu

Displayed in The Lobby, She’s Bestowed Love by textile artist Lin Fanglu is a striking installation that pays homage to the resilience and strength of women. Curated by Dr. Xiaoxin Li of the V&A’s Asia Department, the large-scale work employs vivid red textiles to symbolize energy, emotion, and the cycle of life. Inspired by the traditional textile craftsmanship of the Bai minority in Yunnan province, Lin’s work embodies the enduring power of love and the legacy of women who preserve cultural traditions.

The Flow Pavilion by h0nh1m

At The Verandah, The Flow Pavilion by new media artist h0nh1m offers a fully immersive experience. Created in collaboration with Tai Ping, the installation features a one-way mirrored structure inspired by a contemporary tea house, set within a Zen Garden. Inside, programmed robotics generate intricate carpet patterns based on the artist’s brain waves during meditation. This multisensory space fosters deep focus and tranquility, blending futuristic technology with traditional craftsmanship.

A Celebration of Art and Hospitality

In addition to the installations, The Peninsula Hong Kong will introduce a range of art-inspired culinary experiences. Guests can indulge in an Afternoon Tea at The Lobby with pastries reflecting the exhibited works, alongside British sparkling wine. Exclusive chocolates and cookies modeled on the installations will be available at The Lobby and The Verandah, while specialty cocktails at Felix and The Bar will provide a flavorful tribute to the featured artists.

For those seeking a deeper engagement, guided tours and exclusive stay packages will offer guests an intimate exploration of the exhibition.
