In a country where women have been granted boundless opportunities, Amna Al Shehhi stands out as a voice of resilience, creativity, and purpose. An Emirati professional with a degree in Media from the Higher Colleges of Technology, she currently serves as an Administrator in the Training and Medical Education. But her identity goes far beyond her job title.

Al Shehhi is also a licensed freelance designer and an active member of the NMC Healthcare Youth Council, where she fuses her creative passion with a deep commitment to youth empowerment and community service. For her, every role, whether in healthcare, design, or volunteerism is tied together by a single vision: creating initiatives that deliver meaningful value to people’s lives.

Her journey, however, was not without hardship. Becoming a widow and a mother to a young daughter at an early stage in life tested her resilience to the core. Yet, she embraced the dual responsibility of parenting and pursuing a professional career, transforming grief into strength. Supported by her family, anchored by her faith, and driven by her own determination, she managed to balance motherhood, work, and leadership turning one of life’s greatest challenges into a source of empowerment.

“I learned that a woman’s strength shines brightest in the toughest moments,” she reflects. It is a philosophy that has shaped both her professional and personal trajectory, teaching her that persistence and belief can open doors where none seem to exist.

Today, Al Shehhi looks back with pride at how quickly she has been able to grow. From modest first steps after graduation, she rapidly expanded her experience across multiple domains, building confidence and credibility along the way. This ability to adapt, learn, and grow in short periods has become one of her proudest achievements.

Her perspective on Emirati women is shaped by history. “From the very founding of our nation, women were seen as partners in building society,” she says. Indeed, she points to the fact that Emirati women now occupy leadership roles across government, parliament, and key sectors — a testament to the vision of the UAE’s leadership and the enduring support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation. For Al Shehhi, Sheikha Fatima remains a personal source of inspiration, instilling the conviction that ambition has no limits and that women are capable of achieving anything they aspire to.

To the younger generation, her message is both bold and simple: be fearless in your choices, invest in knowledge, and never shy away from new experiences. She urges young women to knock on doors, embrace opportunities, and trust in their ability to succeed.

As the UAE marks five decades of women’s empowerment with the slogan “Together We Celebrate 50 Years,” Al Shehhi views it not as a commemoration of the past but as a call to collective responsibility. “It reflects the unity and effort that have brought Emirati women so far, and the duty we now have to continue shaping the future together.”

حاصلة على شهادة في الإعلام من كليات التقنية العليا، تعمل الشحي اليوم في قسم التدريب والتعليم الطبي، حيث تساهم في دعم برامج تدريب الأطباء والطلاب. إلى جانب ذلك، تمارس شغفها كمصممة جرافيك مستقلة مرخّصة، وعضو في مجلس شباب إن إم سي للرعاية الصحية، ما يمنحها مساحة لتوظيف الإبداع في خدمة المجتمع وتمكين الشباب وإطلاق مبادرات ذات قيمة حقيقية.

لكن وراء هذا النجاح قصة صمود. فقدت زوجها مبكرًا وأصبحت أمًا تتحمل وحدها مسؤولية مضاعفة — بين تربية ابنتها وبناء مسارها المهني. ومع أن الطريق لم يكن سهلًا، إلا أنها اختارت تحويل الألم إلى قوة. استندت إلى دعم أسرتها، وإلى إيمانها بالله، وإلى عزمها الشخصي، فتمكنت من الموازنة بين دور الأم والموظفة والمصممة والقيادية المجتمعية

تقول: «تعلمت أن قوة المرأة تتجلى في أصعب اللحظات». هذه الفلسفة رافقتها في كل مراحل حياتها، وجعلت من الإصرار والإيمان سلاحًا لفتح الأبواب المغلقة

اليوم، تنظر آمنة بفخر إلى رحلتها السريعة في التطور. من خطوات متواضعة بعد التخرج، إلى خبرات متنوّعة اكتسبتها خلال فترة قصيرة نسبيًا، استطاعت أن تبني ثقة متينة بنفسها وتوسّع آفاقها، لتصبح مثالًا على أن النمو السريع ممكن حين يقترن بالشغف والاجتهاد

رؤيتها لدور المرأة الإماراتية متجذرة في تاريخ الاتحاد: «منذ البدايات الأولى، كانت المرأة شريكًا في بناء الوطن». واليوم، نرى الإماراتيات في مواقع القيادة داخل الحكومة والبرلمان ومختلف القطاعات الحيوية — وهو انعكاس مباشر لرؤية القيادة الرشيدة. بالنسبة لها، تبقى سمو الشيخة فاطمة بنت مبارك “أم الإمارات” مصدر إلهام شخصي، وغرسًا لفكرة أن الطموح بلا سقف وأن المرأة قادرة على بلوغ ما تصبو إليه

ورسالتها للجيل الجديد واضحة: كوني جريئة، استثمري في نفسك، لا تترددي في طرق الأبواب وتجربة مجالات جديدة. ترى أن النجاح يحتاج إلى صبر وثقة واجتهاد، وأن الإمارات تمنح الفرص لكل من يملك العزيمة لاقتناصها
