Khawla Abdullah Al Nuaimi stands as a distinguished example of the Emirati woman who has succeeded in merging professional, humanitarian, and voluntary endeavors into an integrated path that reflects the values of giving and belonging upon which the United Arab Emirates was founded. Originating from Ras Al Khaimah, she holds an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration from the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, along with specialized diplomas in training of trainers, family counseling, and behavior modification. This diverse academic background has given her the ability to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application across multiple fields. For more than two decades, she has worked in various sectors, most notably at Etihad Water and Electricity, where she led operations and service development, proving her competence and ability to make tangible improvements in institutional performance.

Khawla believes that her true beginnings emerged from the world of voluntary and humanitarian work. She became actively involved with the Emirates Red Crescent and the UAE Volunteers Platform, and played a key role in the parent councils of her children’s schools. These roles were never mere side activities, but rather a solid foundation for her conviction that individual success is incomplete unless it translates into a positive impact on society. As she explains: “My message in life is to empower others and help them discover their abilities so they can leave a positive mark in the community.” This passion made her realize early on that her most important achievement is not only what she accomplishes personally, but the influence she plants within her family, her community, and her nation.

Her professional journey began more than twenty years ago, moving first through the banking sector before joining Etihad Water and Electricity, where she contributed effectively to raising performance efficiency and enhancing customer experience. Over time, she came to understand that her administrative expertise could serve as a lever for community development, leading her into the field of coaching and self-development, where she combines practical experience with a spirit of lifelong learning. Reflecting on this stage, she says: “I always believed challenges are not obstacles, but opportunities to learn and grow. This is what gave me the strength to continue and achieve balance in my life.”

Among the most significant challenges she faced was the balance between her multiple roles as a mother, professional, and community activist. Yet she managed to overcome them through determination, discipline, and family support, regarding challenges as fuel for the journey rather than barriers in her way. Despite the pressures of work and family, she has achieved notable accomplishments across diverse fields. She proudly recalls winning the Ras Al Khaimah Award for Excellence as Best Parent Council in the Emirate (2023–2024), and the Khalifa Award for Distinguished Emirati Family in 2021. She also earned individual honors, including the Distinguished Employee Award at Etihad Water and Electricity and the Best Customer Service Officer Award during her tenure at RAKBANK. But for Khawla, her greatest achievement remains being a role model for her children, encouraging them to participate in competitions and refine their talents until they too garnered awards. To her, true success begins within the family and radiates outward to the entire society.

When speaking of the evolution of Emirati women, Khawla emphasizes that today they are principal partners in development, active in leadership and decision-making, in science and humanitarian work. This remarkable transformation is the fruit of unwavering support from the nation’s leadership and the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” who, as Khawla affirms, has been her ultimate inspiration: “Her Highness Sheikha Fatima is my role model, the inspiring Emirati woman who embodies the giving of a mother and the wisdom of a leader. Thanks to her support, Emirati women are able to balance their family, community, and professional roles with strength and confidence.”

She also draws strength from her own mother, who instilled in her from an early age the belief that nothing is impossible, and that persistence can overcome even the hardest challenges. This fusion of family values and institutional support has made Khawla deeply aware that Emirati women today carry a doubled responsibility: to continue building the nation. Hence, her message to young Emirati women is heartfelt: “Believe in your abilities, work on developing yourself, and never fear trying or failing, for every stage in life is a step toward success. The UAE needs every hand that builds, every mind that innovates, and every heart that gives.”

Regarding this year’s theme, “Hand in Hand, We Celebrate the Fifty,” Khawla sees it as a living embodiment of solidarity across generations, where women and men are partners in nation-building, mothers pass the torch to daughters, and leadership stands firmly beside its people. For her, it is a celebration of fifty years of empowerment and a clear message that the future will only be brighter if all work together in the spirit of one team.

ترى خولة أن بدايتها الحقيقية انطلقت من عالم العمل التطوعي والإنساني، إذ انخرطت في الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي ومنصة متطوعي الإمارات، وكانت عضواً فاعلاً في مجالس أولياء الأمور في مدارس أبنائها. هذه الأدوار لم تكن مجرد أنشطة جانبية، بل شكلت قاعدة صلبة لرؤيتها بأن النجاح الفردي لا يكتمل إلا عندما يترجم إلى أثر إيجابي في المجتمع. وكما توضح: “رسالتي في الحياة هي تمكين الآخرين ومساعدتهم على اكتشاف قدراتهم ليتركوا أثراً إيجابياً في المجتمع.” هذا الشغف جعلها تدرك مبكراً أن الإنجاز الأهم ليس ما تحققه على المستوى الشخصي فحسب، بل ما تزرعه من أثر يمتد إلى الأسرة والمجتمع والوطن
رحلتها المهنية بدأت منذ أكثر من عقدين متنقلة بين القطاع المصرفي ثم الانتقال إلى الاتحاد للماء والكهرباء، حيث أسهمت بفاعلية في رفع كفاءة الأداء وتطوير تجربة المتعاملين. ومع مرور الوقت، أدركت أن خبرتها الإدارية يجب أن تكون رافعة لخدمة المجتمع، فدخلت عالم التدريب والتطوير الذاتي، لتجمع بين التجربة العملية وروح التعلم المستمر. وتقول عن ذلك: “كنت أؤمن أن التحديات ليست عائقاً، بل هي فرص للتعلم والنمو، وهذا ما منحني القوة للاستمرار وتحقيق التوازن في حياتي
أبرز التحديات التي واجهتها خولة كانت الموازنة بين أدوارها المتعددة كأم، وموظفة، وناشطة مجتمعية. لكنها نجحت في تجاوزها بالإصرار والتنظيم والدعم الأسري، معتبرة أن التحديات هي وقود التجربة وليست عائقاً أمامها. وعلى الرغم من ضغوط العمل والحياة الأسرية، استطاعت أن تحقق إنجازات بارزة في ميادين مختلفة. فهي تفخر بحصولها على جائزة رأس الخيمة للتميز كأفضل مجلس أولياء أمور على مستوى الإمارة للأعوام (2023-2024)، وبفوز أسرتها بجائزة خليفة للأسرة الإماراتية المتميزة عام 2021. كما نالت جوائز فردية منها جائزة الموظف المتميز في الاتحاد للماء والكهرباء، وجائزة أفضل مسؤول خدمة عملاء خلال عملها في بنك رأس الخيمة الوطني. غير أن الإنجاز الأهم بالنسبة لها هو قدرتها على أن تكون قدوة لأبنائها، إذ شجعتهم على المشاركة في المسابقات وصقل مواهبهم حتى حصدوا عدداً من الجوائز. فهي ترى أن النجاح الحقيقي يبدأ من الأسرة ثم ينعكس على المجتمع بأكمله
حين تتحدث عن تطور دور المرأة الإماراتية، تؤكد أن المرأة اليوم شريك رئيسي في التنمية، موجودة في القيادة وصنع القرار، وفي العلوم والعمل الإنساني. هذا التحول الكبير هو ثمرة الدعم اللامحدود من القيادة الرشيدة ورؤية سمو الشيخة فاطمة بنت مبارك، “أم الإمارات”، التي جعلت الجيل الحالي من النساء أمام فرص أعظم للتأثير والإبداع. وتقول خولة عن سموها: “سمو الشيخة فاطمة قدوتي ونموذج المرأة الإماراتية الملهمة التي جمعت بين عطاء الأم وحكمة القائدة. بفضل دعمها الكبير، أصبحت المرأة الإماراتية قادرة على الجمع بين دورها الأسري والمجتمعي والمهني
تستمد خولة أيضاً قوتها من والدتها التي غرست فيها منذ الصغر أن لا شيء مستحيلاً، وأن الإصرار قادر على تذليل أصعب التحديات. هذا المزج بين القيم العائلية والدعم المؤسسي جعلها تؤمن أن المرأة الإماراتية اليوم أمام مسؤولية مضاعفة لمواصلة بناء الوطن. ومن هنا توجه رسالتها للشابات الإماراتيات قائلة: “آمني بقدراتكِ، واعملي على تطوير نفسكِ، ولا تخافي من التجربة أو الفشل، فكل محطة في الحياة خطوة نحو النجاح. الإمارات تحتاج إلى كل يد تبني، وكل عقل يبتكر، وكل قلب يعطاء
أما عن شعار هذا العام “يداً بيد نحتفي بالخمسين”، فتراه خولة تجسيداً لروح التضامن بين الأجيال، حيث المرأة والرجل شريكان في بناء الوطن، والأمهات يسلمْن الراية للشابات، والقيادة تقف إلى جانب الشعب. فهو بالنسبة لها احتفاء بخمسين عاماً من التمكين، ورسالة واضحة أن القادم سيكون أجمل إذا عمل الجميع بروح الفريق الواحد
