Alia Sultan is an Emirati media personality, creator, and national inspiration who seamlessly merges media, creativity, and social impact. A graduate of Applied Media from the Higher Colleges of Technology, Alia began her journey with a deep passion for words and imagery, viewing media as a platform for influence and meaningful contribution to society.

Her career is marked by remarkable accomplishments. She graduated from Dubai’s Content Creators Program and the Balance Program at the Diplomatic Academy, and was invited as a keynote speaker at the Billion Followers Summit. She also participated in the Government Communication Forum as a session presenter. Notably, Alia is recognized as the first inclusive employee and innovator in economic content creation at the federal level, uniquely combining media and economics in a creative, simplified way.

Alia believes that challenges are opportunities for growth, and that Emirati women are capable of breaking barriers and achieving excellence. Her message to young Emirati women is:

Beyond media, Alia has another passion—the world of beauty. Known as “Alali Makeup”, she began her journey over ten years ago, turning her hobby into a professional success and a source of income. She was named Best Makeup Artist of 2017, receiving an award from Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan during the First Innovators Festival at Burj Al Arab. Over the years, she has worked with many artists and celebrities in the UAE and beyond, establishing herself as a respected figure in both media and beauty.

The Birth of an Inspiring Idea

In 2025, declared as The Year of Community, Alia felt a growing desire to dedicate herself to humanitarian and charitable work. She explained:

“I’m someone who loves to plan and set goals at the start of every year. With each passing year, my goals become more ambitious and impactful. My blessed experience of performing Hajj that same year changed my outlook and made me focus more on volunteerism and giving back. I wanted to bring happiness and joy into people’s lives in a fun and meaningful way.”

From this new sense of purpose, the idea for her Makeup Teaching Initiative for People of Determination was born. Alia noticed that while beauty and makeup workshops are popular in society, people of determination rarely have access to such experiences.

“I decided to be the first to organize a makeup workshop for them,” she said. “I hope this will be the beginning of many more initiatives that empower them and bring joy to their lives.”

Why the Humanitarian Spirit Center in Jumeirah?

Alia chose to launch her initiative at the Humanitarian Spirit Center for People of Determination in Jumeirah for a deeply personal reason—her nephew, Hussein, who has autism, attends the center.

“Every visit to the center was a touching experience,” she shared. “I saw the care and wonderful programs offered to the students. I realized my initiative could bring joy and empowerment not just to them, but to everyone involved.”

Purpose and Emotional Impact

When asked about her main goal, Alia replied: “My goal is to spread happiness and empower people of determination to express themselves and build self-confidence through learning makeup in a fun, inspiring way. Seeing a smile on their faces gives me profound joy and fulfillment.”

The participants’ reaction exceeded her expectations:

“Their enthusiasm was incredible. They were dancing with joy and loved the idea so much that they asked me to repeat the workshop. They wanted to learn how to highlight their features and apply makeup correctly. It was both an educational and entertaining experience.”

One of the most touching moments occurred during the workshop:

“While I was explaining and interacting with them, a girl named Khawla came to my right side, kissed me, and said, ‘I love you so much, please keep visiting us.’ Then another girl hugged me and said, ‘We are very happy you’re here.’ Those moments were filled with warmth, joy, and sincerity. Their simplicity and pure hearts moved me deeply—it was one of the most beautiful feelings I’ve ever experienced.”

Challenges and Family Support

Organizing the initiative came with challenges, especially in coordination and logistics. However, Alia transformed those obstacles into opportunities:

“Since Alali Makeup, my business, was the sponsor, I needed volunteers and coordinators to support the event. Thankfully, my relatives volunteered, and we all enjoyed the experience together. Even my mother joined as a volunteer that day, which added a beautiful family spirit to the initiative.”

The Role of Art and Beauty in Empowerment

Alia strongly believes that art and beauty play a vital role in building confidence among people of determination:

“Learning creative skills like makeup helps them feel more confident in their appearance and abilities. It enhances their independence and creativity and opens doors for social interaction and self-expression.”

Future Vision and Expansion

Looking ahead, Alia aims to expand the initiative across the UAE:

“My goal is to extend this initiative to other centers and groups of people of determination across the Emirates so that more individuals can benefit. I also plan to launch other volunteer programs that empower and bring joy to different communities. I’m looking forward to collaborating with supportive partners to amplify the impact of these efforts.”

بعيداً عن الإعلام، تمتلك علياء شغفاً آخر في عالم الجمال، حيث تُعرف باسم علالي ميكب. بدأت شغفها بالمكياج قبل أكثر من عشر سنوات، واستطاعت تحويله إلى مصدر دخل ونجاح مهني. حصلت على لقب أفضل خبيرة تجميل لعام ٢٠١٧ بتكريم من الشيخ عبدالله بن محمد بن خالد آل نهيان خلال مهرجان مبدعون الأول في برج العرب، كما شاركت في العديد من الأعمال الفنية، وعملت خبيرة تجميل لعدد من المشاهير على مستوى الإمارات والعالم

ولادة فكرة ملهمة

في عام ٢٠٢٥، الذي أُعلن عام المجتمع، شعرت علياء برغبة متزايدة في التفرغ للأعمال الإنسانية والخيرية. تقول: أنا من الأشخاص الذين يحبون التخطيط ووضع الأهداف في بداية كل عام، ومع مرور السنوات تصبح أهدافي أكثر طموحاً وتأثيراً. تجربتي المباركة في أداء فريضة الحج في نفس العام غيّرت من نظرتي للحياة، وجعلتني أركز أكثر على الجانب التطوعي والإنساني، وحرصت على رسم البسمة على وجوه الآخرين بطريقة ممتعة

ومن هنا وُلدت فكرة مبادرة تعليم المكياج لذوي الهمم. فقد لاحظت علياء أن الاهتمام بالتجميل واسع في المجتمع، بينما لم تتح الفرصة لفئة ذوي الهمم لتعلمه أو حضور ورش خاصة بهم. تقول: قررت أن أكون أول من ينظم ورشة مكياج لهم، وأطمح أن تكون هذه البداية لمبادرات أخرى تهدف إلى تمكينهم وإدخال الفرح إلى حياتهم

لماذا مركز المشاعر الإنسانية في جميرا؟

اختارت علياء أن تكون البداية من مركز المشاعر الإنسانية لذوي الهمم في جميرا لسبب شخصي جداً، إذ يتواجد فيه ابن أخيها حسين، وهو من ذوي الهمم المصابين بطيف التوحد. تقول: كل زيارة لي للمركز كانت تجربة مؤثرة، رأيت فيها الاهتمام الكبير والبرامج الرائعة المقدمة لذوي الهمم، وأدركت أن مبادرتي يمكن أن تضيف لهم السعادة والتمكين في الوقت ذاته، فازددت إصراراً على أن تكون البداية من هذا المكان المميز

الهدف والأثر الإنساني

وحول الهدف الأساسي من المبادرة، تقول علياء: هدفي هو نشر السعادة وتمكين ذوي الهمم من التعبير عن أنفسهم وزيادة ثقتهم بأنفسهم عبر تعلم مهارات المكياج بطريقة ممتعة وملهمة. رؤية الابتسامة على وجوههم تمنحني شعوراً عميقاً بالفرح والرضا

وتضيف عن تفاعل المشاركين: كان التفاعل رائعاً ومليئاً بالحماس والفرح، أحبوا الفكرة كثيراً وطلبوا مني إعادة الورشة مرة أخرى. كانوا متحمسين لتعلم كيفية إبراز ملامحهم بالمكياج بطريقة صحيحة. كانت التجربة تعليمية وترفيهية في الوقت نفسه

أما عن اللحظات المؤثرة فتقول: بينما كنت أشرح لهم وأتفاعل معهم، جاءت فتاة تُدعى خولة إلى جانبي وقبّلتني وقالت: (أنا أحببتك كثيراً، أرجوك زورينا دائماً). ثم جاءت أخرى واحتضنتني قائلة: (نحن سعداء جداً بوجودك معنا). كانت تلك اللحظات مليئة بالدفء والمشاعر الصادقة. بساطتهم ونقاء قلوبهم جعل جسدي يقشعر، وشعرت برضا وسعادة لا يمكن وصفهما

التحديات وروح العائلة

لم تخلُ المبادرة من تحديات تنظيمية، خاصة في التنسيق والترتيبات اللوجستية. إلا أن علياء استطاعت تحويل هذه التحديات إلى فرصة جميلة، حيث تقول: بما أن (علالي ميكب) هو الراعي للمبادرة وهو مشروع أملكه وأديره، احتجت إلى منسقين لدعمي، ولله الحمد تطوع معي أقاربي واستمتعنا جميعاً بهذه التجربة. حتى والدتي كانت من المتطوعين في ذلك اليوم، ما أضفى على المبادرة روحاً أسرية دافئة وداعمة

الفن والجمال كأداة للتمكين

تؤمن علياء بأن الفن والجمال لهما دور كبير في تعزيز ثقة ذوي الهمم بأنفسهم، فتقول: تعلم مهارات المكياج والفنون الإبداعية يمنحهم ثقة أكبر بمظهرهم وبقدراتهم، ويشعرهم بالاعتزاز بذواتهم. كما أن هذه التجارب تعزز استقلاليتهم وتفتح أمامهم فرصاً للتفاعل الاجتماعي والمشاركة الفاعلة في المجتمع

رؤية مستقبلية وتوسع قادم

تطمح علياء إلى توسيع نطاق المبادرة مستقبلاً لتشمل المزيد من المراكز والفئات على مستوى الدولة، فتقول: هدفي أن تتوسع المبادرة لتصل إلى أكبر عدد ممكن من ذوي الهمم في مختلف أنحاء الإمارات. كما أطمح لإطلاق ورش ومبادرات تطوعية وإنسانية مشابهة تُسهم في تمكينهم وإدخال السعادة إلى حياتهم، وأتطلع للتعاون مع مؤسسات وشركاء داعمين لتعظيم الأثر الإيجابي لهذه المبادرات

رسالة إلى المجتمع
