Not all slogans are merely words to be repeated; some encapsulate the vision of an entire nation. The slogan “We Will Emerge Stronger and Better,” launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” reflects a new phase in the journey of Emirati women—a phase that goes beyond celebrating past achievements and confidently looks toward greater aspirations, building upon a long legacy of dedication, progress, and accomplishment.
Perhaps an important question arises here: Why are we confident that we will emerge stronger and better?
Because this confidence is not a wishful aspiration; it is the natural outcome of a comprehensive national journey that has spanned decades, investing in people and believing that building human capabilities is the true path to building the future. Since the establishment of the United Arab Emirates, women’s empowerment has never been a seasonal initiative; rather, it has been a strategic choice embraced by the nation’s wise leadership. As a result, women today are key partners in decision-making, the economy, education, media, science, innovation, diplomacy, and humanitarian work.
The strength referred to in this slogan is not the strength of competing with others, but the strength of competence, knowledge, preparedness, and the ability to create meaningful impact. Likewise, being “better” is not measured solely by status or position, but by what an individual contributes to their nation, their ability to continuously evolve, transform challenges into opportunities, and turn achievements into added value for society.
The UAE has successfully built an integrated system where success becomes a natural outcome. It begins with quality education, extends through the development of character and national identity, and continues through legislation that guarantees equal opportunities, empowers talent, and opens doors for participation across all sectors. For this reason, our confidence in the future is not based on expectations, but on the proven experience of a nation that has demonstrated that investing in people is the most sustainable investment of all.
On a Personal Level
On a personal level, I believe that the slogan “We Will Emerge Stronger and Better” carries a message for every individual before it carries one for society. It is a call for each person to become a better version of themselves every day—more knowledgeable, more committed, and more aware of their role and responsibilities. True strength begins from within: through discipline, belief in one’s purpose, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Being better is built through excellence in work, strong values, and positive contributions to the service of others.
On the Family Level
At the family level, Emirati women have proven themselves to be the cornerstone of family building, nurturing the values of belonging and national identity, and raising generations who believe that true success cannot be separated from serving the nation. The Emirati family has always been—and will continue to be—the first school where national character is shaped and prepared to continue the country’s development journey.
On the Professional Level
Professionally, striving to be better is no longer an option—it is a responsibility. Every workplace is a space for creating impact. Every individual achievement contributes to the effectiveness of an institution, and every successful institution strengthens the competitiveness of the nation. Therefore, creativity, innovation, and teamwork become daily practices rather than exceptional efforts.
On the National Level
Nationally, the strength of the UAE has not been built solely on resources, but on a vision that invested in people, cultivated a culture of excellence, and connected ambition with planning and achievement with sustainability. This is why Emirati women have become a global model of active participation. They were raised in an environment that believes in their abilities and entrusts them with both confidence and responsibility.
The Legacy of “Mother of the Nation”
No discussion of this remarkable journey would be complete without acknowledging the historic role of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” may God preserve her. She laid the foundations for the empowerment of Emirati women and established the belief that women are not merely supporters of development, but essential partners in shaping it. Her vision represented a long-term investment in people, the impact of which can be seen across generations of women who have become leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, media professionals, and innovators, contributing confidently and effectively to the nation’s progress.
A Message of Gratitude
To Her Highness, we extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation. The distinguished presence of Emirati women across various fields today is the result of a visionary approach that anticipated the future and firmly believed that building people is the foundation of building nations.
Beyond Achievement
In my view, one of the most powerful aspects of the slogan “We Will Emerge Stronger and Better” is that it does not encourage us to be satisfied with what has already been achieved; rather, it motivates us to continue building and progressing. The stronger person is the one who never stops learning, and the better person is the one who transforms personal success into a means of serving their nation and community.
We Will Emerge Stronger and Better
That is why we are confident that we will emerge stronger and better—because we are the sons and daughters of a nation that does not wait for the future, but creates it. A nation that has made human empowerment a way of life, excellence a culture, and service to the country both an honor and a responsibility. Emirati women have been among its greatest success stories and will continue to be genuine partners in writing its future chapters.
