To the soul of my mother, Mahra Ali Al Ameri, and to every Emirati woman who has made her family a school of values and generosity:

Every year, on Emirati Women’s Day, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of Emirati women across different fields. We speak about leaders, doctors, educators, entrepreneurs, ministers, and every woman who has contributed to the nation’s journey through her knowledge, work, and accomplishments.

However, behind all these achievements, there is another story that is equally significant — a story that begins inside the home, where values are built, personalities are shaped, and principles are formed that remain with a person throughout life.

On Emirati Women’s Day, I cannot think of anyone more inspiring to speak about than my mother. She was not a public figure, did not appear in headlines, and did not hold a leadership position, yet she was the first leader in our lives.

She was the woman who managed our family with wisdom and love, planting within us values that continue to guide us today. I grew up in a close-knit Emirati family built on respect, love, and unity. Like many Emirati families of that time, life was simple, but the values we were raised with were extraordinary. My mother, may she rest in peace, was the heart and soul of that bond.

She taught us that family is not merely individuals connected by blood, but a shared responsibility and a relationship built on compassion, care, and standing by one another through all circumstances.

She did not teach us through long lectures or endless advice; instead, she taught us through her daily actions, through the way she treated people and approached life. She believed that love is expressed through actions, and that a strong family is one that remains united during hardship before moments of happiness.

She quietly instilled these meanings within us, without noise or attention, until they became an inseparable part of who we are.

My father, may he rest in peace, shared these values with her. He always reminded us that we should not only be siblings, but also friends and a source of support for one another. He believed that family unity was the greatest gift parents could leave their children. As the years passed, we came to understand the true meaning behind those words.

A Family United Through Trials

When we lost our father, we all felt a responsibility toward our mother. Each one of us made sure to stay close to her and fill part of the emptiness left by the loss of her life partner.

The greatest challenge came when she became ill and needed a long and difficult treatment journey. During that period, the values she had planted in us throughout her life became clear.

We all gathered around her, taking turns accompanying and caring for her, determined that she would not face that stage alone.

Each of us had our own responsibilities, careers, and families, but we moved with one spirit and one heart. This was not the result of planning or coordination; it was a natural reflection of what we had learned from her and our father since childhood.

She had succeeded in building a family that understood the meaning of responsibility, loyalty, and unity. Those values became our true support during that difficult period.

Although my mother has passed away, her influence remains present in our lives every day. In every family gathering, every moment of support between siblings, and every occasion that brings our family together, we remember what she taught us.

She left this world physically, but her values remain alive among us, passed on to our children and grandchildren from one generation to another.

Through her story, I came to understand that the greatest achievement a woman can accomplish is not necessarily what is recorded in documents or announced on platforms, but what she plants in the hearts of her children — values that remain alive even after she is gone.

The Emirati woman has always been, and continues to be, the first school where children learn the meaning of belonging, responsibility, and respect for others. She has preserved the unity of Emirati families across generations and contributed to building a society founded on cooperation and compassion.

The Woman at the Heart of the Nation’s Strength

When we reflect on the journey of the United Arab Emirates, we realize that its success was not built only on economic, architectural, and developmental achievements, but also on the strength of the Emirati family that formed the foundation of this society.

At the heart of this family, the Emirati woman has always played a central role as a mother, educator, and builder of generations.

Under the wise vision of the UAE leadership, Emirati women have become a global model of empowerment and success while continuing to preserve their essential role in maintaining family stability and unity.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Emirati women have achieved exceptional accomplishments across various fields, because they began from a strong foundation of values and humanity.

In the Year of the Family, these meanings gain even greater importance. Every united family contributes to building a stronger society, and every mother who instills values in her children contributes to building the nation’s future.

The results of this giving may not always appear immediately, but they reveal themselves over time through righteous children, connected families, and a stronger and more stable society.

On Emirati Women’s Day, I remember my mother with love and gratitude. I remember her patience, strength, generosity, and wisdom, and I realize that what she left us is greater than memories.

She left us a legacy of values, love, and connection that will remain with us throughout our lives.

Through her story, I learned that the woman who builds a united family does not simply build a home — she contributes to building a nation.

True impact is not measured by what we own or achieve for ourselves, but by what we plant in the lives of others and what remains after we are gone.

May God have mercy on my mother and on all mothers who turned their homes into schools of values and their generosity into bridges through which generations move toward a brighter future.

For when a mother builds a family, she is truly building a nation.

إلى روح أمي ( مهره علي العامري) ، وإلى كل امرأة إماراتية جعلت من أسرتها مدرسة للقيم والعطاء، في كل عام نحتفي بيوم المرأة الإماراتية، ونستذكر الإنجازات الكبيرة التي حققتها ابنة الإمارات في مختلف المجالات. نتحدث عن القيادات، والطبيبات، والمعلمات، ورائدات الأعمال، والوزيرات، وكل امرأة أسهمت في مسيرة الوطن بعلمها وعملها وإنجازاتها، لكن خلف كل هذه الإنجازات، هناك قصة أخرى لا تقل أهمية، قصة تبدأ داخل البيت، حيث تُبنى القيم، وتُصنع الشخصيات، وتتشكل المبادئ التي ترافق الإنسان طوال حياته، وفي يوم المرأة الإماراتية، لا أجد شخصية أكثر إلهاماً للحديث عنها من أمي، لم تكن شخصية عامة، ولم تتصدر العناوين، ولم تعتَلِ منصباً قيادياً، لكنها كانت القائدة الأولى في حياتنا. كانت المرأة التي أدارت أسرتنا بحكمة ومحبة، وغرست فينا قيماً ما زالت ترافقنا حتى اليوم، نشأت في أسرة إماراتية مترابطة، كان أساسها الاحترام والمحبة والتكاتف. وكما هو حال كثير من الأسر الإماراتية في تلك الفترة، كانت الحياة بسيطة، لكن القيم التي تربينا عليها كانت عظيمة. وكانت والدتي، رحمها الله، محور هذا التماسك وروحه النابضة

علمتنا أن الأسرة ليست مجرد أفراد تجمعهم صلة قرابة، بل مسؤولية مشتركة، وعلاقة تقوم على الرحمة والاهتمام والوقوف إلى جانب بعضنا البعض في كل الظروف. لم تكن تقدم لنا المحاضرات أو النصائح الطويلة، بل كانت تعلمنا من خلال أفعالها اليومية، ومن خلال طريقة تعاملها مع الناس ومع الحياة، كانت تؤمن بأن الحب يُترجم بالأفعال، وأن الأسرة القوية هي التي تبقى متماسكة في أوقات الشدة قبل أوقات الفرح. وكانت تغرس فينا هذه المعاني بهدوء ودون ضجيج، حتى أصبحت جزءاً من شخصياتنا

وكان والدي، رحمه الله، يشاركها هذه القيم، وكان دائماً يردد لنا أننا لا نحتاج فقط إلى أن نكون إخوة، بل يجب أن نكون أصدقاء وسنداً لبعضنا البعض. كان يؤمن بأن الترابط الأسري هو أعظم ما يمكن أن يتركه الوالدان لأبنائهما، ومع مرور السنوات، أدركنا المعنى الحقيقي لتلك الكلمات

عندما فقدنا والدنا، شعرنا جميعاً بالمسؤولية تجاه والدتنا. حرص كل واحد منا على أن يكون قريباً منها، وأن يملأ جزءاً من الفراغ الذي تركه رحيل شريك حياتها. لكن التحدي الأكبر جاء عندما أصيبت بمرض استدعى رحلة علاج طويلة وصعبة، في تلك الفترة، تجلت القيم التي غرستها فينا طوال سنوات عمرها. اجتمعنا حولها جميعاً، نتناوب على مرافقتها ورعايتها، ونحرص على ألا تواجه تلك المرحلة وحدها. كان لكل واحد منا مسؤولياته وعمله وأسرته، لكننا كنا نتحرك بروح واحدة وقلب واحد، ولم يكن ذلك نتيجة تخطيط أو تنسيق، بل كان انعكاساً طبيعياً لما تعلمناه منها ومن والدنا منذ الصغر. لقد نجحت في بناء أسرة تعرف معنى المسؤولية والوفاء والتكاتف، وكانت تلك القيم هي السند الحقيقي لنا خلال تلك المرحلة الصعبة

ورغم أن والدتي انتقلت إلى رحمة الله، إلا أن أثرها ما زال حاضراً في حياتنا كل يوم، ففي كل اجتماع عائلي، وفي كل موقف تضامن بين الإخوة، وفي كل مناسبة تجمع أبناء الأسرة، نستحضر ما علمتنا إياه. لقد رحلت بجسدها، لكن قيمها ما زالت حية بيننا، تنتقل إلى أبنائنا وأحفادنا جيلاً بعد جيل، ومن هنا أدركت أن أعظم إنجاز يمكن أن تحققه المرأة ليس بالضرورة ما يُكتب في السجلات أو يُعلن على المنصات، بل ما تزرعه في نفوس أبنائها من قيم تبقى حية بعد رحيلها، فالمرأة الإماراتية كانت وما زالت المدرسة الأولى التي يتعلم فيها الأبناء معنى الانتماء والمسؤولية واحترام الآخرين. وهي التي حافظت على تماسك الأسرة الإماراتية عبر الأجيال، وأسهمت في بناء مجتمع متماسك يقوم على التعاون والتراحم

وعندما نتأمل مسيرة دولة الإمارات، نجد أن نجاحها لم يكن قائماً فقط على المشاريع والإنجازات الاقتصادية والعمرانية، بل أيضاً على قوة الأسرة الإماراتية التي شكلت أساس هذا المجتمع. وفي قلب هذه الأسرة كانت المرأة الإماراتية دائماً حاضرة بدورها المحوري كأم ومربية وصانعة أجيال، وفي ظل الرؤية الحكيمة للقيادة الرشيدة، أصبحت المرأة الإماراتية نموذجاً عالمياً في التمكين والنجاح، دون أن تتخلى عن دورها الأساسي في الحفاظ على استقرار الأسرة وترابطها. ولذلك لم يكن من المستغرب أن تحقق إنجازات استثنائية في مختلف المجالات، لأنها انطلقت من منظومة قيمية وإنسانية راسخة، وفي عام الأسرة، تكتسب هذه المعاني أهمية أكبر. فكل أسرة متماسكة تسهم في بناء مجتمع قوي، وكل أم تغرس القيم في أبنائها تسهم في بناء مستقبل الوطن. وربما لا تظهر نتائج هذا العطاء فوراً، لكنها تتجلى مع مرور الزمن في أبناء صالحين، وأسر مترابطة، ومجتمع أكثر قوة واستقراراً، وفي يوم المرأة الإماراتية، أستذكر والدتي بكل الحب والامتنان. أستذكر صبرها وقوتها وعطاءها وحكمتها، وأدرك أن ما تركته لنا أكبر من الذكريات. لقد تركت لنا إرثاً من القيم والمحبة والترابط سيبقى معنا ما حيينا، ومن خلال قصتها، تعلمت أن المرأة التي تصنع أسرة متماسكة لا تبني بيتاً فقط، بل تسهم في بناء وطن. وأن الأثر الحقيقي لا يقاس بما نمتلكه أو نحققه لأنفسنا، بل بما نزرعه في حياة الآخرين ويبقى بعدنا
