My journey has never been easy or linear. I have been a working woman, a mother carrying her responsibilities, an athlete who believes that movement creates balance, and a writer who found in words a space for healing and self-expression. With every stage of life, I learned that a woman is not defined by a single role, but by her ability to embrace many roles without ever losing herself.

From the sport of Olympic rowing, I learned the meaning of patience and discipline. Every stroke of the oar reminded me that progress does not happen all at once—it is achieved through steady effort, endurance, and unwavering determination. For me, rowing was never just a sport; it was a school that taught me how to navigate life’s opposing currents.

Through the challenges I encountered, I realized that true inspiration does not come from living a perfect life, but from the ability to rise after hardship. I lost opportunities, faced difficult moments, and sometimes felt as though certain dreams had slipped away. Yet I chose not to let loss define the end of my story. Instead, I transformed it into wisdom, disappointment into strength, and setbacks into new beginnings.

After retirement, I did not choose stillness in the sense of stopping—I chose the kind of calm that allows one to reorganize life from within. I began to see life from a deeper perspective: more time for my children, more time for myself, and greater space to make a different kind of impact. I realized that a woman can begin again at any stage of life, and that age does not limit dreams—it gives them greater maturity and meaning.

My message to every Emirati woman is not to tie her worth to a job title or a particular stage of life. Roles may change, and one chapter may come to an end, but the spirit of giving never does. Motherhood is giving. Being present is giving. Perseverance is giving. The ability to rise again is giving.

من رياضة التجديف الأولمبي تعلمت معنى الصبر والانضباط. كل ضربة مجداف كانت تذكرني أن التقدم لا يحدث دفعة واحدة، بل بخطوات ثابتة ونفس طويل وإصرار لا ينكسر. لذلك لم تكن الرياضة بالنسبة لي مجرد ممارسة، بل مدرسة علمتني كيف أواجه التيارات المعاكسة في الحياة

ومع التحديات التي مررت بها، أدركت أن الإلهام الحقيقي لا يأتي من حياة مثالية، بل من القدرة على النهوض بعد التعب. خسرت فرصاً، وواجهت مواقف صعبة، وشعرت أحياناً أن بعض الأحلام تُسحب من يدي، لكنني اخترت ألا أجعل الخسارة نهاية. حولتها إلى وعي، والخذلان إلى قوة، والانكسار إلى بداية جديدة

بعد التقاعد، لم أختر الهدوء بمعنى التوقف، بل اخترت الهدوء الذي يعيد ترتيب الداخل. بدأت أرى الحياة من زاوية أعمق: وقت أكثر لأبنائي، ووقت أكثر لنفسي، ومساحة أكبر لأصنع أثراً مختلفاً. أدركت أن المرأة تستطيع أن تبدأ من جديد في أي مرحلة، وأن العمر لا يمنع الحلم، بل يمنحه نضجاً أكبر

رسالتي لكل امرأة إماراتية أن لا تربط قيمتها بمسمى وظيفي أو مرحلة معينة. قد تتغير الأدوار، وقد تنتهي مرحلة، لكن العطاء لا ينتهي. الأمومة عطاء، الحضور عطاء، الإصرار عطاء، والقدرة على النهوض عطاء
