Afia believes that a person can carry more than one passion throughout their life. She loved numbers and mathematics from a young age, which led her to work in banking and insurance. At the same time, she always found herself drawn to the world of art, beauty, fashion, and makeup, which she considers a message and purpose before being a profession.

From a Moment of Setback to the Beginning of Success
The year 2019 was the most significant turning point in her life. After losing her job in the banking sector, she found herself facing two choices: giving up or starting again. She chose a new beginning and opened her camera to create educational content specialising in makeup fundamentals—not in pursuit of fame, but with the desire to share accurate knowledge.
Since then, she has dedicated her mission to teaching women that makeup is both a science and an art based on proper foundations, rather than simply applying colours to the face. Today, she takes pride in having built the confidence of thousands of women and becoming a reference point for many trainees and makeup artists whose professional journeys began with her guidance.
Challenges Create Experience and Continuity
Afia believes challenges never disappear; they simply change with every stage of life. When she began her journey in 2008, one of the biggest challenges was the social perception that did not view makeup artistry as a professional career, but rather associated it only with managing beauty salons.
Today, the challenge has changed with the rise of digital content and the increasing number of people claiming to be “makeup experts,” making it more difficult to highlight genuine expertise. In her view, the greatest challenge in social media is consistency, because absence can affect a content creator’s presence. Therefore, she believes success depends on commitment and continuous development as much as it depends on talent.

Afia proudly views the Emirati woman as a symbol of achievement. She emphasises that women in the UAE did not begin their journey of success today; they have been partners in building and developing the nation since its foundation, while preserving their identity, values, and modesty.
She believes that the opportunities for education and empowerment provided by the UAE have enabled Emirati women to represent their country with excellence in local and international arenas, becoming role models in balancing family, work, and national service.
When Beauty Becomes a Restoration of Confidence
One of the moments that remains deeply memorable for Afia was when she welcomed a bride who had lost confidence in herself due to previous unsuccessful makeup experiences.
After completing her look, the bride stood in front of the mirror and cried tears of happiness, saying: “Today, for the first time, I see myself as beautiful.”
At that moment, Afia realised that her work was not limited to enhancing appearances, but extended to restoring women’s confidence in themselves. This impact, she says, is the greatest reward any artist can receive.

She explains that her relationship with beauty began at the age of sixteen, when she provided makeup, hairstyling, henna services, and occasion fashion designs from home. At the age of twenty, she obtained an “Intilaq” licence from the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME support.
In the coming phase, she aims to highlight the difference between temporary trends and the scientific foundations that form lasting professional expertise, in addition to launching new projects that will be announced soon.
Professionalism Begins with Knowledge
Afia’s message to every woman, especially makeup artists, is not to rely only on following trends or attending short workshops, but to deeply study the foundations of this art.
This includes colour theory, shading and highlighting techniques, understanding different skin types, facial features, and age differences. True professionalism, she explains, lies in enhancing each woman’s unique beauty in a way that suits her, rather than simply repeating popular styles.

تتطلع عافية إلى التركيز على إبراز خبرتها المهنية التي بدأت منذ عام 2008، وهي خبرة جمعت بين الدراسة الأكاديمية والممارسة العملية. كما تشير إلى أن علاقتها بعالم الجمال بدأت منذ السادسة عشرة من عمرها، حين كانت تقدم خدمات المكياج وتسريحات الشعر والحناء وتصميم أزياء المناسبات من المنزل، قبل أن تحصل في سن العشرين على رخصة “انطلاق” من مؤسسة محمد بن راشد لدعم مشاريع الشباب. وتسعى في المرحلة المقبلة إلى توضيح الفارق بين الترندات المؤقتة والأساسيات العلمية التي تشكل قاعدة احترافية دائمة، إلى جانب إطلاق مشاريع جديدة سيتم الإعلان عنها قريباً
