When the Story Began with a Simple Horror Film and Her Father’s Camera
From childhood, Maryam had a strong passion for films and visual storytelling. For her, directing was a world she could see in her imagination before she even understood it as a profession. She loved translating ideas into scenes and creating an entire story from small details. Her true beginning came when, during secondary school, she decided to direct a short film. It was a simple horror film in which her brothers and sisters took part as actors, using a small camera that belonged to her father. Professionally, she is honored to have received several awards and achievements of which she is proud, including two awards at the Cairo Festival for the program “Cultural Dimensions,” and an award at the Gulf Radio and Television Festival in Bahrain for the same program, in addition to the Bronze Award for her short film “The Coffee Prince.” She also received the “101 Ideas” Award as part of the “101 Ideas and an Idea” initiative, launched in celebration of the “Year of Zayed” to honor and support creative initiatives. جوائز صنعت الاعتراف المهني.. وحفيدة منحت الحياة معنى مختلفاً

وفي إطار مبادرة «بنظهر الأقوى والأفضل»، ترى مريم أن قوة المرأة الإماراتية تتجسد في قدرتها على تحويل الشغف إلى إنجاز، والتحديات إلى فرص للنمو والإبداع، مستندة إلى بيئة داعمة آمنت بقدراتها وفتحت أمامها آفاق التميز. كما تتوجه بخالص الشكر والتقدير إلى سمو الشيخة فاطمة بنت مبارك «أم الإمارات» حفظها الله، التي أسهمت برؤيتها الملهمة في ترسيخ مكانة المرأة الإماراتية وتمكينها من الوصول إلى مختلف ميادين الإبداع والقيادة، واليوم، وبينما تواصل السعي نحو تحقيق حلمها في الإخراج السينمائي وصناعة الأفلام الوثائقية، تحمل معها إيماناً راسخاً بأن القصص الجيدة لا تنتهي بانتهاء التصوير، بل تبقى حية في ذاكرة الناس، تماماً كما بقيت قصة بدايتها حاضرة في ذاكرتها، منذ تلك الكاميرا الأولى التي منحها إياها والدها، وحتى كل فرصة صنعت منها المرأة والمخرجة التي هي عليها اليوم، لتبقى تجربتها شاهداً على المعنى الحقيقي لشعار بنظهر الأقوى والأفضل
