Mariam’s passion for media began in childhood, when she loved presenting, writing, and being in front of the camera, dreaming of having a presence in this field. Over the years, she moved through different stages of life, becoming a student, then a wife and mother, and in every stage she discovered something new about herself and her abilities.
Despite her family responsibilities, she never stopped developing herself. She continued her education until she earned a master’s degree and built a professional career spanning more than 16 years in government communication, public relations, and marketing. She later founded her own brand, Maroon Design, before expanding her journey into training, writing, and consulting.
Today, when she looks back at her journey, she believes that every stage — even the difficult ones — prepared her for the path she follows now.

For Maryam, media was not simply a career decision made after graduation; it was a dream that began in childhood. She always believed that words have power and that the right message can change a person’s perspective or inspire someone.

Mariam considers one of the most defining stages of her life to be pursuing her education while being a mother. She carried her family responsibilities while continuing her professional work, yet she decided to complete her master’s degree, driven by a strong belief that investing in oneself is the greatest investment.
During the same period, she was also building her own project, Maroon Design, while balancing her government career, studies, and business responsibilities.
This experience taught her that women do not necessarily have to choose between family and ambition. Instead, they need effective time management and genuine belief in their ability to succeed in multiple roles.
Balance… The Challenge That Became an Achievement
Achieving balance was one of the greatest challenges Mariam faced throughout her journey. Being an employee, a mother, a postgraduate student, and a business owner at the same time was not easy.
She remembers days when she would leave work and go directly to university, then return home to manage her family responsibilities, and later work on her own project. The journey was not simple, but she always reminded herself that today’s efforts would become tomorrow’s achievements.
This belief, along with determination and perseverance, helped her overcome challenges and continue moving forward.

Mariam believes she has witnessed the remarkable development of Emirati women firsthand. Through her work in the government sector, she has seen women lead projects, make decisions, and represent the UAE in various fields.
She emphasizes that this presence did not happen by chance; rather, it is the result of a leadership vision that believed in women, especially the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates.”
She believes that Emirati women today are not waiting for opportunities because opportunities already exist. Their responsibility is to make the most of them and live up to the trust placed in them by their leadership and their nation.

From Behind the Scenes to “From the Shadows to the Spotlight”
One of the moments that remains deeply memorable for Mariam was signing her book “From the Shadows to the Spotlight” at the Sharjah International Book Fair.
At that moment, she reflected on her beginnings, the years she spent working behind the scenes, and her childhood dream of working in media. She felt that every step she had taken and every challenge she had faced had eventually led her to that moment.
From this experience, she believes that dreams may take time to come true, but they never disappear as long as a person continues striving and working toward them.
A Family That Believed… and Past Versions That Built Today’s Maryam
After the grace of God, Mariam’s family was her greatest source of support, along with every leader who trusted her, and every person who believed in her abilities and encouraged her to move forward.

Do Not Tie Your Dreams to Age or Circumstances
Mariam’s message to young women is not to connect their dreams with age or circumstances. She highlights that some of her achievements came while she was working, studying, raising her children, and managing her own business at the same time.
Some steps may take longer than expected, but what matters most is that a person never stops striving.
She encourages young women to invest in education and personal development, because while a degree may open a door, it is one’s character that keeps that door open.

Through her efforts, a comprehensive system has been built to support women in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and community participation, allowing women to become essential partners in national development.

الدراسة والأمومة.. حين يصبح الطموح أكثر قوة

من أكثر اللحظات التي بقيت عالقة في ذاكرة مريم، لحظة توقيع كتابها «من الظل إلى الأضواء» في معرض الشارقة الدولي للكتاب. ففي تلك اللحظة، عادت بذاكرتها إلى البدايات، وإلى سنوات العمل خلف الكواليس، وإلى حلم الطفولة بالإعلام. شعرت حينها أن كل خطوة قطعتها، وكل تحدٍ واجهته، أوصلها في النهاية إلى تلك اللحظة. ومن هنا، تؤمن بأن الأحلام قد تتأخر، لكنها لا تضيع ما دام الإنسان مستمراً في السعي والعمل

عائلة آمنت.. ونماذج سابقة صنعت مريم اليوم

بعد توفيق الله، كانت أسرة مريم الداعم الأكبر لها، إلى جانب كل قائد منحها الثقة، وكل شخص آمن بقدراتها ودفعها إلى الأمام. لكنها، في الوقت ذاته، ترى أن هناك شخصاً آخر تعلمت منه الكثير: «مريم في الأمس». فكل لحظة سابقة كانت تمهد الطريق للحظة التي أصبحت عليها اليوم. وكل تجربة، وكل قرار، وكل تحدٍ، أسهم في بناء شخصيتها الحالية، وجعلها أكثر وعياً بقيمتها وقدرتها على الاستمرار والتطور
