I am Farah Abdulhameed, a media professional and strategic media and communications consultant, television presenter, content creator, certified trainer, and an avid equestrian who deeply appreciates everything that horse riding represents in terms of passion, discipline, heritage, and authenticity. Yet beyond professional titles, I have always described myself as a daughter of words, humanity, and positive impact, and as a daughter of the UAE, where I was born and raised and where my awareness, ambitions, and journey were shaped. My relationship with media began many years before I ever stood in front of a camera. From my school years, I found myself drawn to writing, poetry, public speaking, presenting, and storytelling, and I participated in various competitions, including a competition to summarize the book My Vision by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, where I reached the advanced stages. These experiences were much more than school activities for me; they were my first real discovery of my ability to take an idea, understand it, and transform it into a story that could reach others. I was also born into a family closely connected to journalism and media. My father is a media professional and one of the pioneers who witnessed the early development of the publishing sector. He was among the early members of Al Bayan newspaper and witnessed its development during his work with Dubai Media Incorporated. Journalism, words, and publications were therefore part of everyday life at home, and I believe I learned from an early age that media is not simply about fame or visibility, but about long-term work and daily responsibility. When it was time to choose my university studies, I chose media with conviction. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to study at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication at the American University in Dubai, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Television Journalism with distinction and honors in 2013, along with studies in Middle Eastern Affairs. I continued to develop my skills through practical experience and specialized courses in media, presentation, editing, and communications. Professionally, I began in journalism and field reporting, then moved into political and economic news at a young age, and during that period I was recognized as the “youngest political news presenter in the Middle East” through a published public vote by Kul Al Usra and Dar Al Khaleej Publishing. I subsequently worked across journalism, radio, television, production, news, and live programming, and had the privilege of working as a media professional and lead presenter with prominent Arab institutions, including Al Sharqiya, MBC Group, Al Aan TV, and Abu Dhabi Media. Over the years, my experience expanded from presenting content to creating and managing it strategically, covering media consultancy, corporate communications, image and reputation management, leading media communications for local, regional, and international events and conferences, as well as hosting major events and creating content. That is why I do not like to define myself by a screen or a title. After more than thirteen years in the field, I believe the question that has accompanied my entire journey is: How can words evolve from a passing message into a lasting impact? And how can a media professional continue to grow and innovate while maintaining responsibility, credibility, and humanity?

Media Was Never a Passing Choice… It Was a Passion That Became a Profession

Sometimes I feel that I did not really choose media; rather, the details of my life from childhood naturally led me toward it. I loved writing, poetry, public speaking, presenting, and storytelling, and I found joy in standing before others, expressing an idea, or telling a story in a way that made the listener experience it with me. One memory that remains especially close to my heart is participating as a student in a competition to summarize My Vision by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It was a very important experience for me because I was not simply reading a book; I was trying to understand the vision behind its words and then present it in my own language and storytelling style. Perhaps this was where the essence of media began to take shape within me without my realizing it: to research, understand, listen carefully, and then bring an idea closer to people. Growing up in a media-oriented home also gave me a different perspective on the profession. I understood from an early age that what audiences see is only the final part of a much longer process of reading, editing, preparation, and follow-up. The passion grew, and university transformed it from a talent into a profession. I learned that a beautiful voice is not enough, and that presence and charisma are important, but they do not by themselves create a credible and influential media professional. True media requires culture, strong language, research, preparation, quick thinking, ethics, purpose, accuracy, and respect for the audience’s intelligence, regardless of the type of content being presented. From there came the conviction that continues to guide me: Words carry responsibility, and professionalism creates impact.

From Journalism to Strategy… Continuous Growth Became the Real Turning Point

When I look back at my career, I believe that one of my greatest achievements is not a particular position or television program, but my ability to continuously evolve and never allow the success of one stage to confine me to a single role. By nature, I am flexible and ambitious, and I enjoy achievement, challenges, and experiences that allow me to learn something new. I started as a journalist while still at university and wrote and worked with a number of institutions and platforms, including Kul Al Usra, Hitlan Post, Snoob, and others. I then moved into political and economic news at a young age and experienced live broadcasting and interviews with leaders, decision-makers, and figures from the worlds of business, sports, and society. With MBC in particular, I entered a completely different space, moving from arts and entertainment to interviews with numerous Arab stars, some of which generated significant public attention and engagement. This taught me that a professional media personality should not be defined by one type of content, but by the ability to understand the audience and use the right tools for every field. My experiences with Al Aan TV, Abu Dhabi Media, and other institutions each became a different school of learning. One particularly important turning point was developing my work behind the microphone and camera in greater depth. Radio taught me a completely different art: How do you build a relationship with someone who cannot see you? How do you maintain a listener’s attention for hours through your voice, ideas, content, and personality? This was followed by a broader transition into entrepreneurship and strategic communications through RCG for Media and Digital Marketing, working as a media consultant for a number of personalities and leaders in the region and beyond, as well as managing media and communications for international events and projects and developing strategies for image and reputation. I am proud that this journey has also received recognition from various organizations. Among the milestones that mean a great deal to me was being selected among the “Most Distinguished Arabs of 2025” in a poll announced by the Arab Media Forum in Kuwait, being honored on Emirati Talent Day in recognition of my media contributions in the UAE by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim and the Emirates Association for Talented People, and being honored by Trends Research & Advisory alongside a distinguished group of media professionals on the sidelines of the BRIDGE Summit in Abu Dhabi. I also hold a special place in my heart for recognition connected to humanitarian and community work, particularly through “Emaratna Khair,” which I launched in 2018, the Year of Zayed, in cooperation with local community institutions. The initiative aimed to bring happiness and support to orphans, senior citizens, people of determination, and children with illnesses. If I were to summarize the most important transformation in my career, I would say: In the beginning, I asked myself, “How can I succeed in media and make my voice heard?” Today, the question has become, “How can I use media to create a positive impact that goes beyond me?” For me, this transition from visibility to influence, and from delivering a message to creating and managing it, is the real achievement.

Challenges Shaped My Professional Identity… Competence Was Always the Best Answer

Entering the media industry at a young age gave me significant opportunities, but it also placed a great responsibility on my shoulders. When you begin appearing on camera at a young age, you have to prove yourself quickly, particularly when working in politics, economics, news, and live interviews. Another challenge I encountered was the stereotyping that can sometimes surround a young woman with a strong presence or distinctive appearance; external impressions can sometimes precede people’s understanding of her knowledge or professional competence. I learned early on not to fight perceptions with words, but with preparation, work, and results. Whenever a conversation began or the studio lights came on, my goal was always for the question to shift from “How does she look?” to “What does she know, and what can she contribute?” I also learned that the professional environment makes a tremendous difference. A true leader is not afraid of talent; they create space for it. A successful organization does not see the success of its people as a threat, but as part of its own success. With experience, I therefore became more conscious of choosing environments and projects that respect competence and allow people to learn and innovate. Another challenge was refusing to settle for the success of a particular stage. I could have remained within the world of presenting, but it was no longer enough for me. I wanted to understand how strategies are built, how reputations are managed, how institutions respond to crises and rumors, and how a message can evolve from a news story or piece of content into a decision, trust, and influence. This led me toward consultancy, strategic media, content management, and training. Today, we face a new challenge with digital media and artificial intelligence. The tools are changing at an unprecedented speed, but I believe the value of the human being will remain rooted in thought, credibility, professional judgment, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with audiences. The most important lesson I have learned is that success is not about resisting change; it is about evolving with it without abandoning your identity and values.

The Emirati Woman… From Proving Her Ability to Shaping Decisions and Impact

I believe the greatest transformation in the story of Emirati women is that the question is no longer, “Can she?” but rather, “What will she contribute today, and what new field will she lead tomorrow?” That in itself is a major civilizational achievement. Today, we see Emirati women in government, diplomacy, science, space, business, media, medicine, technology, entrepreneurship, and decision-making positions. This presence did not happen by chance. It is the result of a long-term vision that began during the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, who believed in women’s education, participation, and role in society, and which continued and evolved through the support of the UAE’s wise leadership until women became genuine partners in the country’s development and success. Through my own life, upbringing, and work in the UAE, I have witnessed firsthand how an environment that believes in people can raise the ceiling of their ambitions. Women here feel respected and know that they have opportunities to study, work, achieve, and compete, while also understanding that opportunity comes with responsibility. Across the Arab world, I also see a new generation of women who are more educated, more aware of their tools, and more capable of creating their own projects, platforms, and independent voices. However, I believe the next stage should not focus only on measuring women’s presence, but on the quality of their impact—in the workplace, society, family, and in shaping the future. Success is not simply about getting a seat at the table; it is about arriving through competence, having a voice, a decision, and a contribution, and then helping expand opportunities for other women. Empowering one woman can create an achievement, but empowering an entire generation creates a stronger nation.

When Impact Becomes Human… Experiences That Taught Me the Platform Is Bigger Than the Screen

Interestingly, some of the experiences that affected me most did not happen in front of the camera, but far away from it. When I launched “Emaratna Khair” and began working on humanitarian and community initiatives to bring happiness and support to orphans, senior citizens, people of determination, and children, my definition of “impact” changed. In the world of media and social platforms, we often talk about views, reach, followers, and engagement, but all of these numbers become small in comparison to a genuine human moment—a child’s smile, an elderly person’s prayer, or the feeling that a small initiative has made someone’s day a little better. That was when I discovered that some of the greatest forms of impact never appear in statistics. Another experience that changed me was my humanitarian journey with Dubai Cares to Rwanda, where I participated in supporting efforts related to education, children’s empowerment, and kindergartens. When you see how education can transform the future of a child and an entire community, you realize that the most meaningful investment always begins with people. I also cannot forget my visit to Syria to participate in a media conference at the invitation of official entities concerned with media and culture. It was the first time I had visited a country that had experienced years of war, and seeing the impact of conflict on people and infrastructure made me reflect more deeply on the value of security, life, and stability. At the same time, I learned something else: people have an extraordinary ability to rebuild and rise again. That is why I am always encouraged by every step toward reconstruction, stability, and a dignified life, because every human being deserves hope. All these experiences reshaped my understanding of what a platform means to me. A platform is not simply a place for people to see me; it is an opportunity to make those who deserve to be seen heard and visible as well.

Family, the UAE, and My Father… The Roots Behind the Journey

Family comes first, because a person’s confidence is shaped at home before they take it out into the world. I consider being born and raised in the UAE one of the greatest blessings that shaped my personality. Growing up feeling secure, stable, and connected to a place that embraces you and gives you education, opportunity, and space to dream leaves a profound impact on the way you see life. I feel deeply grateful to the UAE and its leadership for making people, their safety, dignity, and happiness a central part of the country’s vision. These are not slogans for someone who has lived them; they are everyday experiences that create within a person a sense of responsibility and a desire to give something back to the place that has given them so much. My father also had a clear influence on my early relationship with media. I grew up hearing about journalism, witnessing its details, and learning about the publishing world from within, while university and my professors later transformed that passion into knowledge and professional tools. One of the memories I cherish most is my graduation and receiving my degree in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. I still remember that moment and the brief conversation we had. With a smile, he asked me whether I would follow my father’s path in journalism, and I answered with the spirit of a young and ambitious woman: “Remember my name well… you will find me in every field.” Today, whenever I remember those words, I smile because they were spontaneous, but they expressed something fundamental about my personality even then: I do not like to place limits on what I can learn or contribute. I also never forget every institution and team I have worked with. Journalism, television, radio, MBC, Al Aan TV, Abu Dhabi Media, and others taught me that the image the audience ultimately sees is supported by an entire system of editors, producers, directors, and technical teams. One of the most important lessons I have learned from the UAE and from my entire journey is: Never allow yesterday’s achievement to become the ceiling of tomorrow’s ambition.

To Girls and Young Women… Build Yourself Before You Build Your Image

My message to girls and young women begins with one sentence: Build yourself before you build your image. We live in a time when fame can sometimes come faster than experience, but fame and success are not the same thing. The number of followers may give you visibility, but it does not automatically give you knowledge, credibility, or sustainability. Invest in your education, language, culture, emotional intelligence, personality, and the way you treat people. Read, train, ask questions, experiment, and never be afraid to start again. Do not compare your beginning with someone else’s middle. Personally, I moved from print journalism to political and economic news, from television and radio to production, and then to consultancy, training, strategic communications, and content creation. The journey was never a straight line, nor did it need to be. Change does not always mean that you have lost your path; sometimes it means that you have discovered new abilities within yourself. I also tell every young woman that when you reach a good place, do not close the door behind you. Give someone an opportunity, share knowledge, encourage a talent, or say something that makes another woman believe she can. The most beautiful kind of success is the success that creates space for others.

Future Ambitions… Broader Media, Content, and Strategic Communications

There are many projects and ambitions, and I always prefer to speak about them once they become reality. What I can say is that the next stage will be a natural continuation of my journey, but across broader spaces that bring together media, content creation, lifestyle and travel, economics and business, and strategic communications. I strongly believe in meaningful partnerships and projects that carry genuine value and allow me to offer something different, whether on screen, through digital platforms, or in the field. After more than thirteen years, I have also become more selective about my professional choices and the projects presented to me. I am no longer interested in simply being present everywhere; what matters to me is that my presence adds value and creates an impact within the place, project, or opportunity.

Success Is Not Simply Being Known… It Is What Your Name Represents

After more than thirteen years in media, my definition of success has changed. At the beginning, success might have meant a major television screen, a successful program, an important interview, an award, or a large number of followers and engagement. All of these things are valuable, and I am proud of them. But with experience, success becomes deeper. Success is having your name remain respected even when you are not in the room. It is having people trust that what you offer has value. It is moving from one experience to another, from television to radio, from traditional media to digital media, and from presenting to strategy and consultancy, without losing yourself or people’s trust. It is understanding that true influence is not only about how many people know your name, but about the meaning that name has come to represent to them. That is why I always say: Success is not simply having people know your name; success is having them know what that name represents. I hope that when my name is mentioned, it is associated with professionalism, responsibility, credibility, humanity, integrity, ambition, and continuous growth. I believe the greatest achievement a person can reach in their career is to become a valuable addition to every project they are part of, to make their own success a gateway to the success of others, and to leave every place they have touched better than they found it.

“We Will Show the Strongest and the Best”… Becoming Better Than We Were Before

What I love about the message “We Will Show the Strongest and the Best” is that it does not simply celebrate how far we have come; it celebrates what we can still become. Personally, I believe strength is not about living a life without challenges, but about emerging from every experience with greater awareness, maturity, and belief in yourself. On the family level, I believe many great achievements begin with things that may seem small: a home that builds confidence, a mother who believes, a father who supports, and a family that gives a dream space to grow. Professionally, my journey has taught me never to treat an achievement as a final destination. Every successful stage should open the door to a new question: What comes next? Nationally, I feel that this message reflects the UAE deeply. It is a country that respects what it has achieved while always looking toward the next achievement. This spirit has made ambition a culture, excellence a responsibility, and the future a project that we all contribute to creating. For me, one of the most beautiful aspects of this year’s message is that it reminds us that a woman’s success is never created alone; behind it stands a system of trust, opportunity, family, community, and a nation that believes in her abilities. We show our strength when we recognize the value of what we have been given, and we show our best when we transform it into an impact for others.

The Strongest Woman Is Not the One Who Advances Alone… But the One Who Opens the Way for Others

To every woman, I say: do not make strength a race against others; make it a journey of growth with yourself. You are not required to be perfect or to succeed all the time. Be a woman who knows her worth, learns from her experiences, holds on to her principles, and rises each time with greater awareness. Be strong through your knowledge, graceful through your values, confident in your identity, and ambitious in your dreams. Do not allow success to change the beautiful things within you. Remember that reaching the destination is not the most beautiful part of the journey; the most beautiful part is what you do once you arrive. Open a door, give an opportunity, share knowledge, encourage a talent, and leave every place you pass through better than you found it. The strongest woman is not the one who advances alone, but the one who rises while helping others rise with her.

“Mother of the Emirates”… A Legacy of Empowerment That Continues Across Generations

When we look at what Emirati women have achieved today, it is difficult to separate the present from decades of vision, work, and belief in women’s abilities. At the heart of this journey stands Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Emirates.” What inspires me about Her Highness’s journey is that empowering women was never simply about helping them reach positions; it was about building a complete human being: educated, confident in her identity, proud of her family and values, and capable at the same time of contributing to her country and shaping its future. I believe one of the most beautiful outcomes of this vision is that we now have generations of Emirati girls for whom ambition is no longer an exception. They have grown up seeing women in science, space, government, diplomacy, business, media, medicine, and entrepreneurship, so the question is no longer, “Can I?” but rather, “How far can I go, and what can I contribute?” To Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, I say: Thank you, because what you planted yesterday is visible today in the ambition, achievement, and confidence of generations of women. Thank you because your vision did not empower women alone; it helped build a society that believes that a woman’s success is a success for her family, society, and nation. I believe the most meaningful way to honor this legacy is not through words of gratitude alone, but by living up to the trust and opportunities we have been given, by contributing, serving, achieving, and then leaving greater space for those who come after us to dream. The greatest legacy of empowerment is when the generation we believed in and supported today becomes a generation that believes in and empowers others tomorrow.
